社会デザイン研究科では、教室での対面授業を基本としながら、同時に遠隔地在住の学生の学びを保証するため、オンラインでも受講できる形で授業を行う。なお、履修者全員の了承が取れた場合には、「対面のみ」もしくは「オンラインのみ」で授業を行うこともある。 |
Since the 1990s, nonprofit institutions in Japan have developed, marked by the 1998 NPO Law. As these institutions face a period of change, this course reviews past debates and current challenges to reconsider the role of nonprofit organizations today.
In the first half of the course, lectures address (1) the basic concepts of nonprofit organizations and key issues that have been debated historically, and (2) institutional frameworks, organizational forms, and practical challenges. The course asks students to consider the question: “If you were to create a nonprofit organization today, what purpose would it serve and what form would it take?” In the second half, students present their proposals in response to this question.

本科目は授業回の全てにおいて、理論等学術的な知見を踏まえつつ、担当教員の実務家としての経験、または研究成果を活かし、教員と学生との双方向の討論を重視した実践的な授業とする。学生には、課題の発表や討論など、授業での積極的な参加を期待する。
1998年の特定非営利活動促進法（NPO法）の制定に象徴されるように、国内では1990年代以降、「非営利」をめぐる制度整備と議論が展開されてきた。それから、およそ30年が経過するなかで、非営利組織を取り巻く制度や社会的役割は転換期を迎えているように見える。本授業では国内における非営利をめぐる議論を振り返り、その実践的課題を確認しながら、いま改めて「非営利組織」をめぐる制度の意義を受講生とともに再検討する。

前半は（１）非営利組織の基本的な考え方と歴史的に議論が重ねられてきた論点、（２）制度や組織の形態、実務的な課題をレクチャー形式で取り上げる。本授業では受講生に「もし、いま自らが非営利組織をつくるとしたら、何を目的に、どのようなものを構想するか？」という問いを投げかける。後半は、この問いに対して受講生が構想プレゼンテーションを行う。
