Participating students will study sustainability of local communities, which suffer from population decrease and globalization, from points of view on economy, society and the environment.. Participants will obtain clues for investigating and implementing sustainability of local communities of 21 century.
We can understand "sustainability" with reality in the communities where we live and work. The communities are changing because of various challenges such as population decrease, climate change and the measures to combat it. Will local people succeed in fighting for changes or be swept away by them? We will analyze the situation of local changes,and try to figure out good local governance in transition..
The themes and order of the course schedule may change according to the interests and questions of the participants.

人口減社会、グローバル化の中で地域が持続可能になるとはどういうことか。経済、社会、環境の視点から検討し、21世紀の地域の持続可能性について考え、取り組んでいく糸口を探る。
Participating students will study sustainability of local communities, which suffer from population decrease and globalization, from points of view on economy, society and the environment.. Participants will obtain clues for investigating and implementing sustainability of local communities of 21 century.
持続可能性を身近に体感できるのは、わたしたちが生活、生業を営む「地域」においてである。この地域は、人口減、気候変動自体やカーボンニュートラルなど気候変動対策によって、地域の生活、生業の基盤が変わろうとしている。その変化に対し、地域の人たちは、主体的に立ち向かうか、変化に流されていくか。取組の方向性、取り組む主体など地域のトランスフォーメーションの位相を検討し、変化の時代の地域ガバナンスのあり方を探る。
なお、授業で扱うテーマ、その扱う順序は受講生の関心事など踏まえて変更することがあり得る。

地域活性化、地方振興など、地域を「元気に」しようとしている政策、活動を日頃からフォローし、地域の持続可能性の観点からどう評価できるか考察してみる。
受講生には、1回程度、授業内容に合わせ発表してもらうことを予定している。発表については、受講生の状況・関心を踏まえて、授業の中で示す予定。
その他必要な事柄は授業内で提示する。
