社会デザイン研究科では、教室での対面授業を基本としながら、同時に遠隔地在住の学生の学びを保証するため、オンラインでも受講できる形で授業を行う。なお、履修者全員の了承が取れた場合には、「対面のみ」もしくは「オンラインのみ」で授業を行うこともある。 |
In recent years, there has been an increase in cases where ‘area management’ is organized around large-scale urban development and facility operations to ensure safety, cleanliness, and plan events within specific facilities or regions. This approach aims not only to strengthen the competitiveness of the facilities themselves but also to compensate for budget and staffing shortages in the public sector. This study examines the advantages and challenges of such area management activities.
In this course, students will learn about the history of urban planning and urban development, while also studying the circumstances that led to the emergence of area management, based on changes in community structures, demographic trends, and consumer behavior from the latter half of the 20th century to the present. Since area management is an ongoing system, the course will clarify its current advantages and challenges and further deepen discussions on its future development.

本科目は授業回の全てにおいて、理論等学術的な知見を踏まえつつ、担当教員の実務家としての経験、または研究成果を活かし、教員と学生との双方向の討論を重視した実践的な授業とする。学生には、課題の発表や討論など、授業での積極的な参加を期待する。
近年、大規模な都市開発・施設運営を中心に「エリアマネジメント」を組織化して特定施設・地域において安全性の確保や清掃、イベントの企画などを行う事例が増えている。これは施設自体の競争力強化を目的としていると同時に、公共セクターの予算・人員不足を補う側面もある。こうしたエリアマネジメント活動の利点と課題について考究する。

授業では、都市計画・都市開発の歴史を学ぶとともに、20世紀後半から現在に至るまでの地域社会構造・人口動態・消費者行動などの変容を前提にエリアマネジメントが生まれるに至る状況を学ぶ。現在進行形の仕組みであるため、現状のエリアマネジメントの利点と課題について明らかにするとともに、その発展形について議論を深めていく。
