21世紀社会デザイン研究科では、教室での対面授業を基本としながら、同時に遠隔地在住の学生の学びを保証するため、オンラインでも受講できる形で授業を行う。なお、履修者全員の了承が取れた場合には、「対面のみ」もしくは「オンラインのみ」で授業を行うこともある。 |
Digital archives digitize and store various cultural resources and records from the past to the present, as well as information generated daily. The free access and utilization of cultural resources such as books, documents, art, cultural assets, and images should be the foundation for a richer society. As the development of digital archives has progressed worldwide, in Japan, which has been slower, a movement has begun to finally begin to build digital archives in various fields. In addition, an integrated portal archive of Japanese cultural resources similar to Europe's "Europeana" is planned. Students will gain basic and practical knowledge and production skills about digital archives such as filing, digitization, copyright, and metadata. In addition, the aim is that students will acquire the basics of digital archives and acquire a digital information base that can be used to create an academic paper.
In this course, after acquiring the basic knowledge of digital archives, students will finally digitize the contents of their interest/research field, and archive or design it, with the goal of reaching the basis for further research and surveys. In addition, researchers must create an academic paper as a result of their academic research on the premise of a digital environment, while focusing on both analog information and digital information which are currently mixed. The knowledge and techniques of digital archive construction are becoming essential as the basic method of academic paper creation.

国会図書館リサーチ、国立公文書館アジア歴史資料センター、NHK戦争証言アーカイブス、東日本大震災アーカイブス、３１１まるごとアーカイブスほか
本科目は授業回の全てにおいて、理論等学術的な知見を踏まえつつ、担当教員の実務家としての経験、または研究成果を活かし、教員と学生との双方向の討論を重視した実践的な授業とする。学生には、課題の発表や討論など、授業での積極的な参加を期待する。
過去から積み上げてきた文化資源や記録、そしていま日々生み出される情報をデジタル化して、社会に送り出す「デジタル・アーカイブ」の構築があらゆる領域で強く求められています。東日本大震災は、その重要性を再確認することになりました。過去の震災や津波の記録を生かしていち早く高台に避難した地域や人々がいた反面、体系的に整えられた記録に触れることが少なかったなどで苛酷な被害を受けた人も多くいました。防災のみならず、図書、記録文書、美術、文化財、映像などの文化資源を蓄積して活用することは、社会をより豊かにするための基盤となります。
また、デジタルの時代に学術研究の成果として論文を作成しなければならない私たち研究者にとっては、デジタル・アーカイブ を構築するための技術や知見は欠かせないものとなりつつあります。インタビューや調査結果としての映像や静止画、書き起こしなどのテキストをどのようにデジタル化して整理・保管するのか、メタデータをどのように付与するのか、ネット上の文献やデータの引用や出典の記述などの手法などの理解を進めます。演習の最後には専門領域や研究テーマ、関心領域に関するアーカイブのための企画制作書を作成します。そして、どのような分野でデジタル・アーカイブが有効なのかを確認し、社会をよりよくするためにデジタル・アーカイブをどう活用すればよいのかを考察します。

この演習では、デジタル・アーカイブの基本的な知識を獲得したうえで、最終的には受講生の関心・研究分野のコンテンツをデジタル化し、アーカイブ化もしくはその設計を行い、その後の研究や調査の基盤にするところまでを目標とします。また研究者は、アナログ情報・デジタル情報が混在する現在、いずれの情報にも目配せをしつつ、デジタル環境を前提に学術研究の成果としての論文を作成しなければなりません。デジタルアーカイブ構築に関する知識と技術は、論文作成の基礎的な作法として必須のものとなりつつあるのです。
2020年以降、新型コロナウィルスの感染拡大で美術館、博物館、図書館、文書館などが一斉に閉鎖されたり、予約制になったりして、資料や収蔵物のデジタル化と配信の拡大が長期的な課題から、研究や学習の面ですぐにも実現すべき問題となりました。また、デジタルの時代に学術研究の成果として論文を作成しなければならない私たち研究者にとっては、デジタル・アーカイブを構築するための技術や知見は欠かせないものとなりつつあります。インタビューや調査結果としての映像や静止画、書き起こしなどのテキストをどのようにデジタル化して整理・保管するのか、メタデータをどのように付与するのか、ネット上の文献やデータの引用や出典の記述などの手法などの理解を進めます。演習の最後には専門領域や研究テーマ、関心領域に関するアーカイブのための企画制作書を作成します。そして、どのような分野でデジタル・アーカイブが有効なのかを確認し、社会をよりよくするためにデジタル・アーカイブをどう活用すればよいのかを考察します。授業の最後に、自らが構築するデジタルアーカイブの企画書を作成していただきます。
