社会デザイン研究科では、教室での対面授業を基本としながら、同時に遠隔地在住の学生の学びを保証するため、オンラインでも受講できる形で授業を行う。なお、履修者全員の了承が取れた場合には、「対面のみ」もしくは「オンラインのみ」で授業を行うこともある。 |
"The objectives of the course are: （１）To reevaluate the fundamental nature of various media and deepen understanding of the underlying logic. （２）In contemporary society, to consider what kind of media functions are desirable and how to achieve them. To develop a vision by redefining the concept of media. （３）To raise awareness of one's own methods of expression."
"What is media? In recent years, especially since the 21st century, many might think of various online media in addition to traditional forms like newspapers, television, and magazines. Media serves as a 'medium' connecting people to people and individuals to society. However, in contemporary times, instead of fostering connections, it sometimes becomes a source of division.
We will examine the nature of 'media' during the era when the desires of the masses exploded through the media, primarily from the late 19th century to the 21st century. The emergence of media has altered people's perspectives, and simultaneously, the unconscious desires of the masses, through media, have been shaping society. What can we learn from this intricate relationship, and how should we respond?
Conscious of methodologies such as sociology, philosophy, AI social theory, semiotics, and representation culture theory, we will explore the possibilities of media in contemporary society. Simultaneously, we will delve into enhancing the potential for effective expression in society."

様々なメディアに対する、日常的な、基礎的な関心。
講義の際にパソコン、イヤホンを携帯くださればありがたく存じます。
最初に受講生の志向性、背景などを確かめ、講義のテーマ、内容、素材など、柔軟に対応していきたいと思います。
土日を挟み3日間の集中講義です。週末に課題を提示し週明け発表してもらうなど、週末を挟んだ短期のスケジュールであることを学習効果を高める為に利用したいと考えています。
本科目は授業回の全てにおいて、理論等学術的な知見を踏まえつつ、担当教員の実務家としての経験、または研究成果を活かし、教員と学生との双方向の討論を重視した実践的な授業とする。学生には、課題の発表や討論など、授業での積極的な参加を期待する。
（１）様々なメディアの基本的な性質を捉え直し、その背後にある論理への理解を深めること。（２）現代社会にあって、どのようなメディアをどう機能させることが望ましいのか？メディアの定義を更新することでビジョンを持つ。そして、（３）自らの表現の手法についても意識を高める。

メディアとは何か？新聞、テレビ、週刊誌…、21世紀以降、近年では様々なネットメディアを思い浮かべる方も多いでしょう。「媒体」として、人と人、人と社会とをつなぐメディア。しかし現代では、時につなぐどころか、むしろ分断を招くものとなってしまうことも少なくありません。19世紀末以降、主として20世紀から21世紀へ、大衆の欲望がメディアを通して爆発した時代の「メディア」のありようを考察します。メディアの出現が人々のものの見方を変え、また同時に、大衆の欲望が無意識が、メディアを社会を変えていく…。そのあざなえる縄のような関係性から何を学び、どう対応していくべきなのでしょうか？社会学、哲学、ＡＩ社会論、記号論、表象文化論などの方法論を意識しつつ、現代社会にあってメディアの可能性を考えると同時に、社会で有効な表現の可能性を高めていくことについても探究します。
