【Course Objectives】

How can we achieve durable peace? Are peace and justice compatible? How can we prevent conflicts? To address these questions,this course aims to equip students with relevant academic tools to understand and analyze root causes,conditions for durable peace and security. This course also introduces and enhances the knowledge of the international rules,principles,and instruments applicable in armed conflict.The course also covers basic concepts and knowledge of international criminal law and justice.

【Course Contents】

This course is comprised of three parts. First,students learn the history and development of international society and the United Nations Charter. Second, students learn the legal framework and contemporary issues of International Humanitarian Law/the Law of Armed Conflict and International Criminal Law. Third, students learn the basic concept and contemporary issues of peace studies.
