To familiarize students with current concerns and concepts of sustainability across a number of key approaches in the humanities and the arts.
To develop students' critical appreciation of the potential contributions of these approaches to practices of sustainability in an age of environmental crisis.
Through immersive learning experiences and inspiring stories, to deepen students' awareness of their ecological responsibility and capacity for creative change.
This course will take students on an exploratory journey through some of the most vibrant areas of contemporary inquiry addressing sustainability issues, inviting them to look through their lenses and thereby to think more creatively about the complex dimensions of environmental change and crisis, as well as to seek more sustainable ways of living for the well-being of present and future generations.

There is no assigned textbook for this course and all reading and visual materials will be uploaded to the Canvas LMS, which students are required to check regularly. Since no paper handouts will be provided, students are expected to bring their laptops or mobile devices to class.
