This course introduces students to the practice of data analysis with a statistical software “Stata”. This class will be held according to the following schedule. October 2 (Thu) 1st and 2nd periods. This course is designed to introduce theories and measurements of inequality and poverty and discuss their applications.
This course explores topics in international development, including poverty, growth, and inequality. Theories learned in the lectures will be empirically examined to analyze a variety of real-world data, using STATA, a statistical software. Students are expected to produce meaningful outputs using their own datasets, based on what they had learned in class. For this reason, students should bring their own STATA-installed laptop computer in class.
