【Course Objectives】

Among various approaches to environmenal issues, political ecology focuses on the political economy of environmental change,elaborating complex web of interactions of stakeholders concerning issues. This class introduces students to the multi-disciplinary perspective of research, understanding unequal power relations of competing actors and its social and economic structures both in the developed and developing countries.

【Course Contents】

This class encourages students to read through one of the textbooks on political ecology titled "Political Ecology :A Critical Introduction to Geography" (see the details of it in the Textbook section). Each student is required to choose one of the chapters of it and give a presentation to elaborate it.
