The aim of this seminar is for students to acquire the basic knowledge and skills required to write a master’s thesis and conduct a research project in Translation Studies. Students will carry out a preliminary investigation on a chosen topic using appropriate methodology and present the key findings at the end of the semester.
As a groundwork for writing a master’s thesis or carrying out a research project in Translation Studies, the first half of the semester will be spent on learning from previous projects while receiving guidance from the instructor on how to conduct research. Students will utilize knowledge gained during this period to present an interim report outlining their research plan and the possible way forward. In the second half, students will carry out preliminary investigations and formulate research questions by discussing issues that arise during the process. At the end of the semester, students will share their findings and learning outcomes in the form of an oral presentation, which will become the basis of their final report.

このセミナーの目的は、学生が翻訳学における修士論文の執筆および研究プロジェクトの実施に必要な基本的な知識とスキルを習得することです。学生は、選定したテーマについて適切な方法論を用いて予備的な調査を行い、学期末に主要な調査結果を発表します。

翻訳学における修士論文執筆や研究プロジェクト実施の基礎を築くため、学期前半はこれまでの研究プロジェクトを学びつつ、研究の進め方について指導を受ける時間とします。この期間で得た知識を活用し、研究計画と今後の方向性を概説する中間報告を行います。学期後半では、予備的な調査を実施し、その過程で生じる課題について議論を重ねながら研究課題を形成します。学期末には、研究成果や学びの結果を口頭発表という形で共有し、それを最終報告書の基礎とします。
