The aim of this seminar is to learn basic knowledge and skills to conduct research and write a master's thesis, as the seminar students go over theoretical and methodological frameworks on intercultural communication studies and clarify their research themes and methods.
As students review previous studies related to their research themes on the basis of their expertise on intercultural communication studies and other related fields, they will clarify their themes and research methods. In class, the students will give presentations not only on previous studies related to their topics but also their research progress. They will be provided with specific guidance for analyzing data and writing an academic paper.

修士論文作成に向けて、異文化コミュニケーション研究の理論的・方法論的枠組みを概観しつつ、研究テーマを明確化し、研究を遂行し、論文を執筆するうえで必要な知識を身につけることを目的とする。
The aim of this seminar is to learn basic knowledge and skills to conduct research and write a master's thesis, as the seminar students go over theoretical and methodological frameworks on intercultural communication studies and clarify their research themes and methods.
異文化コミュニケーション関連科目ならびにその研究領域に関連する科目の履修によって得られる専門知識を踏まえ、個々の研究関心に応じて国内外の先行研究の動向を把握し、各自の研究テーマと方法を明確化していく。さらに、受講生に個々の研究テーマと関連する研究や自身の研究の進捗について発表をしてもらいながら、研究指導を行う。
As students review previous studies related to their research themes on the basis of their expertise on intercultural communication studies and other related fields, they will clarify their themes and research methods. In class, the students will give presentations not only on previous studies related to their topics but also their research progress.
