In preparation for their master's thesis, each student will clearly set out their research theme, gather necessary information and material, and acquire the basic knowledge and skills required to cultivate the ability to consider how best to proceed with investigative research and academic discussion. Students will then commence writing.
Building on basic knowledge of the field of linguistics (specifically language structure and meaning), students will work on their own research topic while developing deeper understanding of issues to address and necessary research methodology. Also, each student will deliver reports and presentations on their research theme, student debates will be carried out, and necessary specific instruction geared toward each individual’s thesis writing will be provided.

学生各自が修士論文に向けて研究テーマを明確にし，必要な知識・情報を収集したり，調査研究や論考をどのように進めていくか考えることができるように，基礎的な知識と能力を身につけ，論文執筆に取り組む。
In preparation for their master's thesis, each student will clearly set out their research theme, gather necessary information and material, and acquire the basic knowledge and skills required to cultivate the ability to consider how best to proceed with investigative research and academic discussion. 言語学，特に言語の構造面や意味に関連した分野の基礎知識を踏まえて，取り組むべき課題と必要な研究方法の理解を深めながら，各自の研究テーマに取り込んでいく。また，学生各自の研究テーマに即した報告・発表や学生間の討論も行ってもらいながら，それぞれの論文執筆に必要な具体的な指導をしていく。
