【Course Objectives】

In preparation for the final goal of writing a master's thesis, students will focus on a research topic from among various studies on intercultural communication, read articles and books on the research topic, organize the contents, present them, and critically examine them through discussions. In doing so, the goal is to understand the concepts used in individual research, theoretical and methodological frameworks, methods of data analysis, methods of writing research results, frameworks for discussion, and methods of presenting the limitations of research, so as to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for conducting their own research in the second year. The goal of this course is to prepare students to conduct a survey in the second year of the program.

【Course Contents】

Based on the specialized knowledge acquired through intercultural communication-related courses and courses related to research methods, students will grasp the trends of previous domestic and international research according to their individual research interests, accumulate knowledge on their own research topics, and understand the theoretical and methodological frameworks of necessary research methods and specific research cases. Students will also gain an understanding of the theoretical and methodological framework of necessary research methods as well as specific research cases. In addition, research guidance will be provided by having students present a summary of research related to their themes and the progress of their literature reviews.
