Starting with the Research Prospectus, this course aims to assist students in two key areas: first, gaining a foundational understanding of how to conduct research on cultural phenomena; and second, selecting appropriate methodologies and theoretical frameworks, as well as completing their data analysis. Students will critically engage with previous research to contextualize theories within their own projects and use their findings to contribute in meaningful academic conversations.
Students will engage in critical and active reading of academic works in cultural studies and intercultural communication to build a personal repertoire of theories and methodologies for their research projects. They will also discuss their projects with peers and the instructor to receive constructive feedback.
