【Course Objectives】

To work on initial tasks for working on master's thesis and graduate research projects related to translation and interpreting. Focus is placed in selecting relevant prior research, setting up research questions, identifying research methods and theoretical frameworks.

【Course Contents】

Students learn essential elements in their master's thesis and graduate research projects related to translation and interpreting. For master’s theses, students receive advice on how to find relevant literature, establish research questions and research approach, and identify theoretical frameworks and methods of gathering and analyzing data. For graduate research projects, students work on actual translations and prepare for theoretical analysis. All students are required to conduct a pilot project and submit a report on the findings.
