To work on initial tasks for working on master's thesis and graduate research projects related to translation and interpreting. Focus is placed in selecting relevant prior research, setting up research questions, identifying research methods and theoretical frameworks.
Students learn essential elements in their master's thesis and graduate research projects related to translation and interpreting. For master’s theses, students receive advice on how to find relevant literature, establish research questions and research approach, and identify theoretical frameworks and methods of gathering and analyzing data. For graduate research projects, students work on actual translations and prepare for theoretical analysis. All students are required to conduct a pilot project and submit a report on the findings.

翻訳・通訳に関連する修士論文・課題研究に取り組む上での初期作業を行う。特に、先行研究の選定、リサーチクエスチョンの設定、研究方法や理論的枠組みの見極めに焦点を当てる。

翻訳・通訳に関連する修士論文・課題研究における必須項目について学ぶ。修士論文に取り組む学生は、関連する先行研究の見つけ方、リサーチクエスチョンとリサーチデザインの立て方、理論的枠組みやデータ取集・分析方法の見極めについて助言を受ける。課題研究に取り組む学生は、翻訳実作に取り組み、理論的分析の準備を行う。いずれも、パイロットプロジェクトに取り組み、成果に関するレポートを提出する。
