Develop the basic knowledge required for studying language, specifically themes associated with meaning, and cultivate critical thinking skills for considering semantic perspectives from many different standpoints.
While including lectures to introduce basic knowledge of semantics, we will read documents and conduct debates in line with the set themes, to consider together problem areas that exist within semantics. Moreover, the specific and central theme of semantics in linguistics proper to be covered here will be lexical semantics.

言語の、特に「意味」に関連するテーマで考察を行う上で必要な基礎知識を身に付け，様々な立場の意味論的観点を批判的に検討していくための思考力を養う。

意味論の基礎知識を紹介するための講義を交えつつ，設定したテーマに即して資料を読んだり討論を行う中で，意味論の持つ問題点について皆で考えてゆく。なお，言語学プロパーの意味論の具体的テーマとしては，語彙的意味論が中心となる。
