備考/ NotesNotes |
The goal of this course is to acquire the foundational knowledge necessary for the study of Phraseology. We will begin by exploring various definitions of Formulaic Language, and delve into its taxonomy, characteristics, and functions. Additionally, we will contemplate the roles of Formulaic Language in both first and second language acquisition. While touching upon recent research in Formulaic Language, we will also consider its applications in education.
This class will primarily follow a format of lectures along with text-based materials, oral presentations, and discussions. Initially, we will deepen our understanding of the complexity of the nature of Formulaic Language (FL) and explore various definitions associated with it. We will also introduce its connections with various fields of linguistics, such as psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, language acquisition theory, corpus linguistics, and more. We will contemplate what FL is, what kind of phenomenon it represents, and what functions it serves, gaining an overall perspective. Following that, we will elaborate on the roles of FL in the native language of adults, and L1 / L2 acquisition. Additionally, we will touch upon the relationship between aphasia and FL.
