備考/ NotesNotes |
By the end of the course, students will understand and be able to explain the complexities of "who" a language learner is. To do so, students will explore the roles of socializers and the self on competency and value beliefs. Students will understand affect, motivation, and agency and be able to assess teaching practices in relation to each. It is expected that students will also be able to understand the complexities of "who" a teacher is, and thus, students should be able to assess a language learning classroom dynamic from multiple psychological perspectives.
The course will cover the development of the self. In order to understand said development, the course will cover the influential roles of culture, socializers, education, and the self on beliefs, affect, motivation, and agency. The course will conclude with practical implications in the classroom.
