By the end of the course, you will be able to:
•Define the concept of curriculum and apply the concept to design an English curriculum
•Explain the different approaches and types of syllabuses
•Describe the procedures for designing a syllabus
•Create a syllabus for your course
In this course, you will gain a basic grounding in the principles and practice of curriculum development and syllabus design in the context of English language teaching.
We will begin by presenting a discussion about language curriculum development. We will then look at the different syllabus models to design a suitable syllabus for your student’s needs. You will engage in demo lessons, create a syllabus for your class, and give a presentation about your syllabus at the end of the semester.

The following minimum level of English Language Proficiency is expected at the time of registration: TOEFL (iBT) 90 and/or IELTS 6.5.
