【Course Objectives】

Students will gain linguistic and subject knowledge that will prepare them to interpret consecutively and simultaneously, from English to Japanese and vice versa, in the topics that conference interpreters regularly handle.

【Course Contents】

Each class will focus on one topic related to international business. Students will prepare for the in-class interpreting task throughout the week. When they come to class, they will be ready to interpret the topic from English to Japanese in the first half and from Japanese to English in the second half of the class. Students will have the opportunity to review their own and each other’s performance, get feedback, and learn how to improve for next time.
