In this course, students will read and examine scholarly literature to discuss phenomena of cultural and linguistic contact and hybridization, as well as representations of other cultures, particularly within an Asian context and from a cultural studies perspective. Additionally, the course will help students develop the ability to critically examine theories, paying particular attention to historical and social backgrounds.
This course aims to help students to read and discuss literature that focuses on orientalism, nations, colonialism, imperialism, gender, ethnicity, and other issues in the cultural transformation, interaction, and intercultural expression brought about by movements that exceed the limits of human beings and capital.

分析対象の文学や映画、および関連する文献について批判的に考察する力。
授業資料配布、課題提出には、Canvas LMSを使用する。
グローバル化に伴う文化や言語の接触，混淆の現象，また異文化表象について，特にアジアの文脈で文化研究の立場から論じるための文献を読み考察する。特に歴史的・社会的背景などに留意しながら批判的に理論を考察する力をつける。

人や資本の境界を越えた移動に伴う文化の変容や文化接触，異文化表象について，オリエンタリズム，ネイション，植民地主義，帝国主義，ジェンダー，エスニシティなどの問題点に着目した文献を読み，議論を行う。
