First, we will review the roles, the development and the issues of humanitarian assistance and peacebuilding. Then, based on what we will review in the first part, the students will be able to critically examine humanitarian and peacebuilding assistance from the perspective of the people living in the places where such assistance is actually provided.
We will first examine the role, development, and issues of international humanitarian assistance and peacebuilding. We will then examine humanitarian assistance and peacebuilding from the perspective of the people in the regions where those international assistances were or are being provided, thereby developing the ability to think critically about such assistance. The literature that we will read will be determined based on the interests of the participants. Therefore, during the first half of the semester, the first half of each class will be in the form of a lecture, and the second half will consist of presentations and discussions of the readings. The balance between the first and second half will vary from session to session. In the later part of the semester, discussion of the readings will be the main activity.

初回のイントロダクションの授業で講読する文献を決めますので、履修に関心がある学生は必ず出席するようにしてください。
まず国際協力の中での人道・平和構築支援の役割、発展、問題を理解する。その上で、人道・平和構築支援を、そうした支援が実際に行われている場所に住む人びとの視点から批判的に考察できるようになる。
First, we will review the roles, the development and the issues of humanitarian assistance and peacebuilding. まず人道・平和構築支援の役割、発展、問題を検討します。その上で、人道・平和構築支援について、それらが行われている地域の人びとの視点から考察することにより、それらの支援について批判的に考察する力を養います。講読文献につきましては、参加者の関心を鑑みながら決定いたします。そのため、一回の講義は、学期前半は講義形式、後半は輪読の発表、ディスカッションという形式で行います。前半と後半のバランスは、回によって異なります。後半は輪読の発表、ディスカッションが中心となります。
