This course focuses on transitional justice in regions affected by armed conflict and engages in close reading of academic literatures and class discussions. Transitional justice refers to efforts to address past large-scale human rights violations with the aim of achieving reconciliation and social justice. In recent years, various regions have been institutionalizing systems of compensation for victims of violations of international human rights and humanitarian law. Through examining concrete case studies, the course critically discusses such initiatives.
To deepenen the understandings on humanitarian and peace-building assistance through reading relevant literatures and discussions.

初回のイントロダクションの授業で講読する文献を決めますので、履修に関心がある学生は必ず出席するようにしてください。履修計画は履修生の関心によって変更する場合があります。ゲストスピーカーの登壇日も変更する可能性があります。
本科目では、武力紛争影響地域の移行期正義について焦点をあてて、文献講読とディスカッションを行う。移行期正義とは、和解や社会正義などの実現を目ざして行われる過去の大規模な人権侵害への取り組みをさす。近年、国際人権・人道法違反の被害者への補償の制度化が各地で進めれてきている。講義では、具体例を通じて、そうした取り組みを批判的に考察する。
