This course aims to acquire applied-level knowledge of analyzing tourism from an economic perspective. Students will acquire the necessary knowledge on how to model the relationship between tourism and the environment and the impact of tourism on local communities, and how to make evidence-based policy suggestions through data analysis.
In this class, students will deepen their understanding of research trends in tourism economics by using articles or texts on tourism economics. In particular, students will read research papers in economics on how tourism contributes to the development of rural areas, with particular attention to the connection between the natural environment and tourism. Students will also read papers that conduct empirical analysis to deepen their knowledge of data analysis.

観光を対象として経済学を用いて分析した海外ジャーナルに掲載された論文を読み、リサーチクエスチョンを設定できること。
必要な資料などを配布する際に、Canvas LMSを使用することがある。
観光を経済学の視点から分析する方法について、応用レベルの知識を習得することを目標とする。観光と環境の関わり、観光が地域に与える影響などをどのように経済モデル化するのか、またデータ分析を通じエビデンスに基づいた政策提言を行なう方法について、必要な知識を習得する。

観光経済学に関する論文もしくはテキストを用い、観光経済学領域の研究動向について理解を深める。特に、自然環境と観光とのつながりを意識し、観光が地方の発展にどのように資するかについて経済学の研究論文を読み込む。また、実証分析を行なっている論文を読み、データ分析についての知見を深める。
