Understand the historical development of the normalization concept and the basic principles of interpersonal assistance required by caregivers. Furthermore, you will be able to actually collect data (surveys and fieldwork) and use it to present at academic conferences and write papers.
While examining the principle of normalization and the historical development of human rights ideas from various perspectives, this course will consider "issues of stigma, such as discrimination and prejudice against people with disabilities within the community" and "social, political, educational and welfare issues relating to people with Down's syndrome," and will examine the "theory of care" required by "caregivers" who support people with disabilities.

研究者としての基本的な学術論文執筆及び調査研究の方法論について心得があること。
可能な限り，院生自身の博士論文作成支援の一助となるように「特論（演習）」において指導・アドバイスを行う。受講生には，そのための積極的・主体的な受講態度や個人発表／報告／文献レビュー等の準備をお願いする。
ノーマライゼーション理念の歴史的展開とケアの担い手に必要な対人援助の基本原則を理解する。さらに、実際にデータ収集（調査・フィールドワーク）を行い学会発表や論文執筆に結びつけることができる。

ノーマライゼーションの原理及び人権思想の歴史的展開を多面的に検討しながら，「コミュニティの中における障害者への差別・偏見等のスティグマ問題」や「ダウン症者と社会・政治・教育・福祉問題」を考え、障害者を支援する「援助（ケア）の担い手」に必要とされる「ケア論」について検討する。
