Identifying the issues facing welfare policy on Japan. Through consideration of the governance structure of the Japanese State and the characteristics of Japanese society. Furthermore, students can promote their interest in these issues and link this to presentations at academic conferences and dissertation writing.
Reading “The Enigma of Japanese Power" by K. Wolferen, which is a classic text on Japanese society theory, we will consider the Japanese governance structure and the characteristics of Japanese society through seminar discussions.

この講義は日本国家の統治構造及び日本社会の特質についての考察を通して、わが国の福祉政策の課題を解明することを目的とする。更にこれらの問題関心を深めて、学会発表や論文執筆に結び付けることができるようにする。

日本論の古典的テキストであるK. Wolferen著『日本権力構造の謎』の講読を進めながら、日本国家の統治構造及び日本社会の特質について考察する。本講義は演習形式で⾏う。
