Understanding the major theoretical traditions, comprehending and comparing strengths and weaknesses of each of them, and then establishing the theoretical perspective for own research. Refine your own research from such a theoretical perspective and apply it to conference reports and academic papers.
Reading intensively the important literature of community studies and discussing the features of several theory and methods of them and application potentiality for student's research. The texts will be about regional sociology, urban sociology, and cultural anthropology. The order and distribution of the texts we will be reading will be discussed with students.

具体的な実施形態は受講生と相談の上で決定します。
コミュニティ論の主要な理論的系譜を理解し、各々の強みと弱みを把握・比較した上で、コミュニティ研究を遂行するための自身の理論的視座を持つことができるようになること。そうした理論的視座から自身の研究を錬磨し、学会報告や学術論文作成に生かすこと。

コミュニティ論の重要文献を輪読し、各々の理論と方法の特徴と各自の調査研究への応用可能性について議論を行う。テキストとしては、地域社会学、都市社会学、文化人類学等の文献を用いる予定である。扱うテキストの順番や分配等については，受講者と相談する。
