In this lecture, we will focus on the problems facing the Japanese economy and consider economic and social systems that can solve these problems. The aim of this class is to cultivate the ability to grasp the situation necessary for businessperson active on the front lines of business, and to understand the framework of economic and management theory and its application methods that are the premise of new business design.
The global economy is facing increasing uncertainty, including population growth, the rise of protectionism, military conflicts, and the need to respond to climate change. In addition, the Japanese economy has been stagnant for about 30 years, with GDP growth remaining at a low level and technological levels relatively declining. The challenge for the Japanese economy is to create new businesses through GX, DX/AI, etc., and in particular, it is urgent to formulate a grand design for a society with a declining birthrate and an aging population. In this lecture, we will focus on the “people,” “things,” “money,” and “technology” that are the management resources necessary for operating a business, and we will use the frameworks of economics and business administration to provide an overview of the mechanisms of economic society.

本科目は、5年以上の実務経験を有する実務家教員による授業であり、全授業回数の50％以上がディスカッションなど双方向形式の授業によって運営されます。本科目は博士課程前期課程と博士課程後期課程の合同授業となるが，後期課程の受講者においては，全ての評価方法で前期課程より高度な達成水準を要求します。
本講義では、主として日本経済が直面する課題を取り上げ、それらの課題を解決するための経済・社会システムについて考察する。第一線で活躍するビジネスパーソンに必要とされる状況把握力や新規事業構想の前提となる経済学や経営理論の枠組みの理解とその応用方法について学ぶことが本授業の目的である。

世界経済は、人口増加、保護主義の台頭、軍事的な対立、気候変動への対応など不確実性が高まっている。また、日本経済は約30年間にわたり停滞し、GDP成長率は低い水準に留まっており、技術レベルも相対的に低下してきている。日本経済にとっては、GX、DX/AI等による新たな事業創出が課題となっており、特に、少子高齢社会のもとでグランドデザインを描く必要に迫られている。本講義では、こうした現在の日本が直面する課題を対象に、ビジネスを営む上で必要となる経営資源、すなわち、「ヒト」「モノ」「カネ」「技術」に着目し、経済学や経営学の枠組みで経済・社会システムをわかりやすく読み解く。
