社会デザイン学の最前線の一つであるトランジション・デザイン（Transition Design）の潮流を学ぶ。特に７Aでは、文化理論の潮流に焦点をあて、多元世界デザインの鍵概念の理解と実証研究への応用を議論する。
This coursework discusses theory and practice, problems and perspectives of Transition Design, an emerging social design research program. This 7A course focuses mainly on culturalist approach of Transition Design, exploring the application of key concepts and theories to empirical research.
全14回を三つのテーマ（南型知の可能性、コミュニティと風土、伝統技術と社会デザイン）に分け、各テーマに関する基本文献の輪読、ディスカッション、主題別研究を進めていく。
The whole course divides into 3 parts: (1) Epistemologies of the South; (2) Community and Fudo; (3) Traditional Techniques and Social Design. Each class is organized to discuss reading materials and the application to empirical research. Students can also present their own research projects to elaborate theory and method.
