This course examines Transition Design, one of the latest research areas in social design studies. In particular the course investigates the European debate on degrowth / post-growth, scrutinizing its research trend as well as theoretical and methodological orientations.
Students will read key research articles on degrowth or postgrowth every week and discuss related research agendas and methods in the classroom. The reading materials cover a variety of approaches including historical epistemology, ecological economics, political economy, anthropology, social capital, STS, ecofeminism, and others.

国際的な研究動向の変化に応じて扱うトピックを若干変更する場合がある。
本演習では、社会デザイン学の先端分野の一つであるトランジション・デザインについて学ぶ。特に欧州を中心に議論が進む脱成長／ポスト成長論の研究動向を整理・検証する。
This course examines Transition Design, one of the latest research areas in social design studies. In particular the course investigates the European debate on degrowth / post-growth, scrutinizing its research trend as well as theoretical and methodological orientations.
毎週の演習では、脱成長／ポスト成長論に関する主要な英語論文（1～2本）を読み、当該分野に関する問題群や研究方法を議論する。科学認識論、エコロジー経済学、政治経済学、人類学、社会関係資本、科学・技術・社会（STS）、エコフェミニズムなど幅広いアプローチを網羅する。
Students will read key research articles on degrowth or postgrowth every week and discuss related research agendas and methods in the classroom.
