This is an introductory course to the theories of Intercultural Communication. We will read the key literature and articles associated with central concepts and issues in the field of Intercultural Communication. The main objective is to deepen our understanding of aspects and mechanisms of interactions between and among people from different cultures and explore the realities behind the scene.

異文化コミュニケーションに関わる様々な課題や中心となる概念および理論を理解し、研究テーマの分析・考察に応用することができる。

異文化コミュニケーション領域の研究における理論入門コース。異文化コミュニケーション領域における概念や理論に関する主要文献を精読し,「彼ら」と「我々」の間に生じる相互作用について考察する。「異文化」を感じるコミュニケーションの場で, 何が起きているのか, それがどのように現れているのか, 背後にはどのような要素が絡んでいるのかについて考えていきたい。事前に配付資料（テーマに関連した文献）を読んでくること。クラスは, 講義, 発表, 質疑応答を中心に進める。
