1. Students have a good understanding of theories of vocabulary learning and can explain them.
2. Students have a comprehensive understanding of emprirical findings in vocabulary learning research.
3. Students can devise and present effective vocabulary learning methods based on the theories and empirical findings of vocabulary learning.
Students learn theories and empirical findings related to vocabulary learning through presentations and discusssions.
Specifically, studnets will make presentations on assigned chapters from "Learning vocabulary in another language (Nation, 2022)". Following these presentations, there will be discussions focusing on the theoretical and pedagogical significance of the presented research.

Students will make presentations of the assigned chapter using presentation software (PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.), with the aid of a PC and screen. Since the chapters for the presentation will be distributed as digital files, students are required to use a laptop computer (or tablet computer) in each class. |
At Rikkyo University, students are required to spend 45 hours of study (including class time) per credit. Please prepare for classes and review the materials accordingly.
- The presenter is required to thoroughly understand the assigned chapter, create presentation slides, and prepare to present them in English.
- Before the class, students are required to read the chapter that will be covered in the class and prepare for an English discussion.
- After the class, students must review the chapter that was presented and consider its relevance for research and education.
