【Course Objectives】

This course aims to achieve the following objectives:
1. To understand the concepts of “practice” and “automatization” in second language acquisition
2. To develop the ability to critically examine what constitutes effective practice in second language acquisition
3. To identify major research approaches used in studies on practice and automatization in second language learning

【Course Contents】

In this course, we will examine the roles of “practice” and “automatization” in second language acquisition. We will critically evaluate theories and methods of practice that are considered effective for second language learning and explore how these insights can be applied to foreign language teaching and learning. Students are expected to read assigned book chapters or research articles (approximately 20 pages per week) and participate in class discussions. During assigned weeks, students will prepare and give oral presentations based on the readings.

毎週20ページ程度の英語で書かれた専門的な文献を読むことが求められる。
