PhD students will be able to conduct the original studies that can contribute to understanding the way vocabulary works in learning English as a foreign language. Particularly, they are expected to investigate vocabulary teaching and testing for the empirical knowledge necessary to make informed choices in a classroom.
This course will offer a comprehensive introduction to vocabulary for English language teachers who would like to know the way vocabulary works. Using the assigned textbook, students are expected to make presentations about what vocabulary is, how it is taught, and how it is tested. They will also discuss a variety of topics about teaching vocabulary in a classroom.

The following minimum level of English Language Proficiency is expected at the time of registration: TOEFL (iBT) 90 and/or IELTS 6.5.
