This course aims to discuss the latest trends in Translation and Interpreting Studies (TIS) as an interdisciplinary field. It will explore the field's current horizon, as well as the challenges and possibilities it faces in today's rapidly globalizing and changing society. The course will also enable students to apply the new insights and perspectives they have acquired to their own research theme.
Beginning with an overview of the history of Translation and Interpreting Studies (TIS), this course examines the latest trends in TIS through relevant literature, focusing on themes that have gained particular attention in recent years, such as conflict and war, media, history, technology and AI, and multiculturalism. The course will allow students to deepen their understanding of the current state of TIS, discuss its future challenges, and apply their knowledge gained to their research. Class activities will include student-led presentations and discussions. Students are expected to read the assigned texts thoroughly before class. Presenters are responsible for fully preparing their presentations and facilitating lively discussions.

本講義は、学際領域としての翻訳通訳研究の最新動向について考察し、本研究分野の現在の地平を明らかにするとともに、急速にグローバル化し変容する現代社会における翻訳通訳研究の今後の課題と可能性を探ることを目標とします。さらに、本講義を通して得た新たな知見と視座を自らの研究テーマの分析・考察に応用することを目指します。
This course aims to discuss the latest trends in Translation and Interpreting Studies (TIS) as an interdisciplinary field. このコースでは、まず翻訳通訳研究の歴史を概観したうえで、紛争・戦争、メディア、歴史、テクノロジー・AI、多文化共生など、とくに近年注目されているテーマを切り口として、翻訳通訳研究の最新動向を関連文献を通して考察します。授業活動を通し、翻訳通訳研究の現状に対する理解を深めるとともに、将来の課題について議論し、その知見を受講生自らの研究に反映させることを目指します。クラスの活動では、学生主導による発表と討論が行われます。受講生は指定された文献を熟読して授業にのぞむことが求められます。また、発表担当者は発表の準備を十全に行うとともに、クラスでの討論を活性化させる役割を担います。
尚、スケジュール、および扱うテーマはクラスの状況、要望に応じ変更される可能性があります。
