This course focuses on the "gift," one of the basic topics in cultural anthropology. It aims to equip students with an anthropological perspective that relativizes the economic system where all goods and services are bought and sold in markets, thereby challenging the modern world's assumption that such systems are "ordinary".
Discussions of the gift extend beyond economic phenomena, encompassing diverse fields such as international cooperation, education, welfare, and medical care. Therefore, this course examines the concept of "the care", a topic gaining attention beyond cultural anthropology, while incorporating key arguments from the gift. Through this approach, students will develop anthropological ways of thinking grounded in the perspectives of the "gift" and "care".

授業では、毎回課題文献について議論を行うため、時間外学修として課題文献を読み進めておくこと（課題文献などは授業の第1回目にお知らせする）。また、毎回課題文献についての「課題レポート」の発表と議論を行うため、時間外学修としてレポート作成に取り組むこと。

授業では「CANVAS LMS」を通じて課題レポートの共有やディスカッションをおこなうため、各自PCを持参することが望ましい。
①人類学で議論されてきた贈与の仕組みや考え方を理解し、私たちをとりまく社会現象を分析する力を身につける。さらに、贈与の概念を踏まえて、自身の研究課題についての分析を行う。
②人類学のみならず注目されているケアの考え方を理解し、私たちをとりまく社会現象を分析する力を身につける。さらに、ケアの概念を踏まえて自身の研究課題についての分析を行う。

本授業では、文化人類学の基本トピックの１つである「贈与」に焦点を当てて、あらゆる財やサービスが市場で売買される経済のありかたを相対化し、そのようなシステムを自明のものとする現代世界を問い直す、人類学の考え方を身につける。
贈与の議論は経済的な事象にとどまらず、国際協力、教育、福祉、医療などのさまざまな事象を射程としている。そこで本授業では、贈与の論点を踏まえながら、文化人類学以外の分野でも注目される「ケア」の概念を検討する。これによって本授業では、「贈与」と「ケア」の観点からの人類学的思考法を身につける。
This course focuses on the "gift," one of the basic topics in cultural anthropology.
