1. Develop the ability to understand issues from multiple perspectives by comparing academic research with literary and nonfiction works.
2. Strengthen critical and analytical skills through the integration of diverse materials and approaches.
3. Enhance the capacity to articulate and deepen one’s own research interests through seminar discussions.
Demonstrate an understanding of the various challenges, key concepts, and theories related to international cooperation, and apply them to the analysis and critical examination of one’s own research.
This seminar combines literary works, nonfiction texts, and academic articles to explore key themes in international cooperation and development. By using narratives as analytical entry points, students will examine lived experiences, emotions, and social relationships that are often invisible in policy documents or statistical reports. The course focuses on four main themes: (1) refugees and migrants, (2) borders and family, (3) gender, and (4) power relations. Conducted in a seminar format, the course requires active engagement through weekly reading, question preparation, and in-class discussion, encouraging students to approach each topic critically and from multiple perspectives.

この授業では、国際協力と開発について多角的に学び、議論することを目指す。講師はこれまで10年以上にわたり、NGO、国際機関（ユニセフやUNHCR）、日本と米国の財団で国際協力に従事してきた。その中で見てきた現場のリアルや直面した課題、成功と失敗から得た学びを学生たちと共有したい。
1. 学術論文と文学作品、ノンフィクションとの比較を通じて、複数の視点から問題を理解できる。
2. 異なる資料を組み合わせて考察する応用力・批判的思考力を養う。
3. ゼミでの議論を通じて、自分の研究関心を言語化・深化させられる。
国際協力に関わる様々な課題や中心となる概念および理論を理解し、自身の実施する研究の分析・考察に応用することができる。

本授業では、文学作品・ノンフィクション・学術論文を組み合わせて読み、国際協力・開発に関連するテーマを多角的に考察する。政策文書や統計ではとらえにくい「人々の経験」「感情」「関係性」を、物語を手がかりに読み解き、それを学術的議論や現実の国際協力の現場と結びつけて議論する。扱うテーマは、①難民・移民、②国境と家族、③ジェンダー、④権力差の4つである。ゼミ形式で行い、受講生は毎回の読書・問いの準備・討論を通じて主体的に学ぶ。
