Students present their own research progress and receive questions and advice from other graduate students and faculty members in the department, thereby improving their own research. Furthermore, through listening to and discussing the research reports of other graduate students, students will deepen their multifaceted understanding of psychological research and develop their research skills. At the same time, students will develop the ability to be critical of research and to evaluate research from a broad perspective. In addition, students will be able to play a role in enriching discussions with other students and faculty members, such as by organizing issues and delving deeper into discussions. The goal of this course is to acquire the skills necessary to become researchers and future educators.

学生が自身の研究について発表を行い、他の大学院生や専攻教員からの質問やアドバイスを受けることによって、自身の研究テーマ、方法、分析などの向上を図る。さらに他の大学院生の研究報告を聞き、討論を行うことを通して、心理学研究への多面的な理解を深め、研究能力を伸長させる。同時に、研究に対する批判力と、研究を大局的な視点から評価する力を養う。加えて、他の履修者や教員とのディスカッションの中で論点の整理を行う、議論を掘り下げるなど、議論を充実させる役割を担えるようにする。これらによって、研究者および将来の教育者として必要な能力を身につけることを目標とする。

この授業は心理学専攻所属教員全員による研究指導の場である。基本的には、研究指導教員全員と、大学院博士課程前期課程・後期課程の大学院生全員が、毎回授業に出席する。司会進行や運営は大学院生が行う。大学院生による研究発表に対し、全員で積極的に討論を行い、指導教員・副指導教員以外の研究指導教員からもアドバイス等をもらう。
