By engaging with studies that analyze Alfred Hitchcock’s films from the viewpoints of gender and sexuality, students can consider how these analytical frameworks might inform their own film and media research. This course aims to cultivate students’ ability to critically interpret prior researches, further develop their own investigations, and produce academic papers.
Students will engage with key studies of Alfred Hitchcock’s films, examining how issues of creator–audience relations and spectatorship have been theorized in relation to gender and sexuality. Active participation in class discussions will be emphasized.

ジェンダー・セクシュアリティの観点からヒッチコック映画を取り上げた研究を読む。こうした研究の読解を通して、自身の映画研究・メディア研究にどの点が応用できそうか、考えられるようになる。先行研究を的確に読み解き、自身の研究を深め、論文としてまとめる力を身につける。

ジェンダー・セクシュアリティの観点から、「作り手と観客の関係」「観客性」について議論したヒッチコック映画研究を精読する。授業内でのディスカッションも重視する。
