In addition to learning knowledge and research methods related to modern Japanese history, students will prepare for setting their own research subjects.
The subjects of the research will involve modern Japanese history. In the class, students will engage in basic literature reading on modern Japanese history, including history of the common people, social movements, and women, and create reports and hold discussions based on the reading. As the classes emphasize discussions and presentations of opinions, the class attendance is a must.

日本近代史に関する知識や研究方法を学ぶとともに、自らの研究課題を設定するための準備を行う。
In addition to learning knowledge and research methods related to modern Japanese history, students will prepare for setting their own research subjects.
日本近代史にかかわることを研究対象とする。授業では、民衆史・社会運動史・女性史などを含みこんだ日本近代史に関する基礎的な文献の講読を行い、講読に基づいた報告と議論を行う。授業内での意見発表や議論を重視するので、授業には必ず出席すること。
