【Course Objectives】

Students will aim to reach the stage of writing their graduation theses by deepening their own research themes concerning early modern Japanese history and by engaging in research for their preliminary theses and graduation theses.

【Course Contents】

Continuing the content from Seminars H17, students will establish hypothetical perspectives based on the organization of prior research and on the content of historical materials they have comprehended, and will create outlines and report on these as appropriate. Finally, students will assemble these as a step toward their graduation theses. Specifically, students will proceed by combining content from the following three activities:
I) Take up early modern historical materials related to students' research, and examine the content
II) Examine prior research and important literature related to students' research
III) Report on and examine the current state of research
The relative proportions of I, II, and III will be adjusted flexibly according to the progress of students' research.
The course also plans to have students give research reports based on each group's interpretation of historical materials.
