Students will take up a specific region, set research themes, engage in prior learning as a group, and cultivate the ability to connect this to actual fieldwork.
Based on methods for surveying regions learned in Seminars I9 in the spring semester, the course will conduct classes aimed at having students acquire survey and research abilities on the assumption of actual fieldwork. Specifically, students will select regions in Tokyo and its suburbs, and will survey new and old topographical maps, statistics, literature, etc. on themes such as changes in the natural environment and land use, the history of regional development, and changes in population composition. Students will further present their findings in class to deepen discussion, and will finally summarize the findings in reports. Students are expected to attend the first class, as themes and regions to survey, leaders, etc. will be determined through consultation in class.

具体的な地域を取り上げて研究テーマを設定し，グループでの事前学習を行い，実際のフィールドワークへと結びつける能力を養う．

春学期の演習Ｉ9で学んだ地域の調べ方をもとに，実際にフィールドワークを想定した調査・研究能力の習得を目指した授業を展開する．具体的には，東京とその近郊のある地域を選定し，その自然環境や土地利用の変遷，地域開発の歴史，人口構成の変化などをテーマに，新旧の地形図，統計，文献資料などをもとに調べる．さらにその成果を授業内で発表して議論を深め，最終的に報告書としてまとめる．なお， 調査する地域やテーマ，担当などについては，第１回目の授業時に相談の上決定するので．必ず出席すること。
