The purpose of this course is to develop a comprehensive understanding and interest in Latin America's diverse natural environment, its colonial and developmental history, its economic, social, and cultural characteristics, and the problems it faces.
First, the regional structure, natural environment, and socio-cultural environment of Latin America will be outlined. Then, the Amazon and the Pantanal are taken up as case studies, and the relationship between the diverse ecological spaces and people's lifestyles and cultures will be discussed in detail, mainly from a viewpoint of cultural ecology.

ラテンアメリカの多様な自然環境、植民・開発の歴史、経済・社会・文化的特徴、直面する諸問題などについて、包括的な理解と関心を涵養する。
The purpose of this course is to develop a comprehensive understanding and interest in Latin America's diverse natural environment, its colonial and developmental history, its economic, social, and cultural characteristics, and the problems it faces.
最初にラテンアメリカの地域構成と自然環境、社会・文化環境について概説する。そのうえで、アマゾン、パンタナールを事例に取り上げて、多様な生態空間と人々の生活・文化との関わりについて、おもに文化生態学的視点から詳説する。
