【Course Objectives】

Students will learn methods for considering the various phenomena of education at schools from a perspective of Historical Sociology. At the same time, they will learn writing skills in order to learn presentation manners and writing good papers. Students will turn in a report (at least 12,000 characters) at the end of the term.

【Course Contents】

Class activities will mostly focus on reading, debating, and writing. Students will read literature and discuss in order to consider the educational phenomenon from a perspective of Historical Sociology (including cultural history, psychological history, and social history in some cases). Furthermore, students will learn and apply methods of collecting historical documents. At the same time, they will learn writing skills in order to compose papers.
