The objective of this course is to study the relationship between literature and painting.
The figure of the painter in Balzac, Zola, and some other novelists or filmmakers will be examined and discussed.

フランス文学と絵画の関係について考察する。
The objective of this course is to study the relationship between literature and painting.
バルザックの「知られざる傑作」（1831年初出）以降、画家を主人公とする小説が数多く書かれてきた。作家にとって、画家とはどのような存在なのか。美術史と文学史のつながりを学びながら、19世紀から現代にいたる画家のイメージについて考える。バルザックにくわえ、ネルヴァル、ゾラ、シュオッブ、プルースト、ユルスナール、カミュ、ウエルベックなどの作品をとりあげる予定。学生の関心にあわせて、画家の伝記映画もとりあげる。
