This course aims to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for literary research. Specifically, how to analyze literary texts, how to collect prior research and materials necessary for consideration, and how to read and understand them.
This course also aims to help students acquire appropriate written expression for their papers.
This seminar is intended for students who will write a research essay, a preliminary thesis, or a graduation thesis. The class will consist mainly of presentations and discussions by the students. The students will decide on the works to be presented based on their own interests and concerns, and will set and analyze the problems by themselves. After the oral presentation, the students will write a paper or a report that develops the work further.

文学研究のために必要な知識と技能を身につける。具体的には、文学テクストの分析方法や、考察のために必要な先行研究や資料の収集方法、また、それらの読解の方法などである。
論文として適切な文章表現を身につける。

本演習は研究小論文、卒業論文予備論文、卒業論文等を執筆する学生を対象とする。授業は学生による発表と討議を中心に進める。履修者が自らの興味や関心に基づいて、発表対象とする作品を決め、自分で問題設定や分析などを行う。口頭発表を経て、それをさらに発展させた論文やレポートを執筆する。

予習：次回の発表で扱われる文学テクストや資料を読了すること。また、自分の発表資料を作成すること。文献の調査や立論、分析は全て授業時間外の学習となる。
復習：特に口頭発表を終えた後は、最終レポートの提出に向けて内容の再検討や資料の再調査、文章の推敲などの作業が必要になる。
