【Course Objectives】

Case studies of companies from Europe, the US, and Asia as well as Japan will be used to deepen understanding of companies that intend to continue growing and their actual management conditions. This lecture will also discuss the globalization and innovation sought as a source of company growth as well as touch on the openness trend that promotes open market transactions to deepen the student’s knowledge of how businesses are managed in the 21st century.

【Course Contents】

The course focuses on the expansion of globalization and the pursuit of innovation as specific means for achieving company growth and both of these will be studied from the three perspectives of fundamental theory, historical background, and assessment of the current situation. The state of company growth today will be looked at by gaining an understanding of mandatory topics for modern company management, including competitive strategy, diversification, PPM, M&A, strategic alliances, and internal reserves, in addition to the latest topics, such as open innovation and platform strategy.
