【Course Objectives】

Students will study the theory, history, and actual conditions of industry in order to become human resources who can "discover, analyze, and solve real-world problems," as stated in the degree awarding policy of the Faculty of Economics.
Actual companies and industrial systems are diverse and complex. In addition, companies and industrial systems differ among countries and they often differ within the same country depending on the time. In Industrial Economics 1 the objective is to understand the reality of complex company and industrial systems from the perspective of economics. In particular, students will learn about the historical changes in company productive activity to date and the Japanese company system.

【Course Contents】

Why does a company perform some operations internally and procure other operations from the market? And why does the form of industries and companies differ among countries? This lecture will explain the theory, history, and reality of industries
