The course gives basic knowledge of social policy ,especially of social security. Then students are able to understand and think the functions of social policy in present times and problem of policies.
This course focus' on in-kind benefits or service, such as health insurance, long term care service or other self-support benefits. It also gives the knowledge of history, functions of institution, recent trend and policy problem. Japan's policies are compared to other countries'.

社会政策（社会保障）の基礎知識を習得し，現代において社会政策が果たしている機能，制度が抱えている諸問題を理解し，考察する能力を身につける。
The course gives basic knowledge of social policy ,especially of social security. Then students are able to understand and think the functions of social policy in present times and problem of policies.
現物給付制度である健康保険と介護保険、その他について解説する。健康保険制度、薬剤価格、医療提供体制は国民生活を支える社会的基盤である。介護保障は21世紀の全人類的な課題であり、超高齢社会の日本の政策は全世界的な関心を集めている。これら現物給付制度の歴史，制度の仕組み，近年の動向，政策課題など総合的に取り上げる。国際比較をしつつ，日本の社会保障制度の特質を明らかにする。
