This course will introduce students to the use of accounting numbers from the perspective of a manager or business owner, in developing a business plan, raising funds, setting up an accounting information system, and making decisions such as in costing, pricing, planning, control and evaluation.
This course will introduce basic accounting concepts that a manager or business owner would need to know.

| The study material for this course will be referenced in the lecture slides as weblinks. They will all be freely available internet resources or articles. |
Each class will be divided into 2 parts. The first half will be a lecture presentation using powerpoint slides. The second half will be group discussions, with 4 or 5 students per group. A member of each group may be required to present the group's findings.
It would be helpful if students bring along an internet accessible device (tablet, laptop) for use in group discussion.
